Key Mittens
The Key Mittens are worked from the wrist up. The thumb is worked at the end. The mittens are worked either on a long circular needle using the Magic Loop technique or on double-pointed needles.
Size guide
Use a measuring tape to measure around your hand at the knuckles. The sizes 4-7 years (7-10 years) S (M) L fit an approximate hand circumference of 14-15 (15-17) 17-18 (18-20) 20-22 cm [5½-6 (6-6¾) 6¾-7 (7-7¾) 7¾-8¾ inches].

Gauge: 20 sts x 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4 inches] in colorwork pattern and stockinette stitch on a 4 mm [US6] needle
Needles: 3.5 mm [US4] and 4 mm [US6] / 80 cm [32 inches] circular needles if using the Magic Loop technique, or 3.5 mm [US4] and 4 mm [US6] double-pointed needles
Materials: Main color (color for rib cuff, thumb and top): approx. 34 (44) 54 (62) 70 g Peer Gynt by Sandnes Garn (50 g = 91 m [98 yds]) or Peruvian by Filcolana (50 g = 100 m [109 yds])
